Therapy for Children
My number one priority in providing therapy to children is to help them feel seen and understood. My hope is that your children are free to be themselves authentically in my presence and know that I offer a non-judgmental space to feel and process whatever emotions and situations they are struggling with. Together, we identify underlying issues presenting as “behavioral problems” and work to find solutions. I understand that each child is unique and embrace flexibility in treatment approaches to honor different personalities and temperaments.
Parent Consultation & Counseling
Struggling to connect with your child? Or having trouble with difficult behavior? Schedule a parent consultation (as needed basis) or counseling to gain the support and guidance needed to provide a stable and healthy childhood experience. You’ll learn and practice effective parenting tools that help you function optimally as a parent and bring peace to your family.
Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) Therapy
I utilize a holistic and affirming approach for individuals with HSP traits. The emotional and physical toll on HSPs can be higher due to sensitivity, therefore a comprehensive treatment plan aligning mind, body and soul is beneficial in supporting HSP individuals.
AutPlay® Therapy
As a certified AutPlay® Therapy provider, I focus not on the symptoms or diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder, but on the whole child and what they are currently struggling with. Interventions are aimed at promoting connection, sensory integration, emotion regulation and social skills.
Groups
Amani Counseling offers special interest groups aimed at building specific skills and promoting social interaction through connection and play. Groups vary and may or may not covered by insurance. Ask for more information about current groups to determine the best fit for your child.
